CATALYTIC CARBON

Catalytic Carbon is perfect for removing hydrogen sulphide (the rotten egg smell that can sometimes emanate from boreholes). The carbon still removes the chlorine, taste and odour as it usually would, but will also grab any hydrogen sulphide within the water.

For the media to work best you will need an air cushion on top of the filter vessel to help oxidise out the hydrogen sulphide, this can be done with an air intake kit on top of the backwashing control valve.

The media will expire in roughly 12 months of use, even with effective backwashing, so will need to be replaced on a yearly basis.
